Dog owners are well aware that physical activity is important for health and well being.  We are now learning that mental stimulation is just as important.  Dogs that are provided stimulation and enrichment have been shown to have a slower cognitive decline as they age.  In addition, many behavioral issues resolve when a dog is provided enrichment activities.

Common enrichment activities are puzzle games.  However, there are many ways to stimulate and encourage your dog to think and explore with everyday household items.  On this web site we have enrichment ideas for activities and different edible items.  The enrichment puzzles are great but may dogs quickly grow bored with them.  The Canine Center has a stock of enrichment puzzles we rent to current clients to try before you buy.
